2021 Kitchen Remodel Ideas

If there is a lesson that we all learned in 2020, it's that home is the best place to be, more so in the kitchen. Having stayed indoors for most of last year, it's no surprise that many folks are investing in remodeling their kitchens.

If you are among the people who are looking forward to revamping your kitchen this year, we have some style ideas to help you keep up with the latest trends. From unique ideas to bold looks, anything is possible with your kitchen remodel!

Appliance Cabinets

Having a fully organized and clutter-free kitchen can be quite a daunting task for any home. For a more sophisticated kitchen look, ensure that your appliances are easily accessible while not being in the way of your every day cooking.

The new (and might I say genius) trend people are picking up on is incorporating space in their cabinets and kitchen islands to avoid the constant moving of appliances that we don’t necessarily need every day. Hide your microwave in a pullout drawer, put that stand alone mixer behind an extended overhead door, and even throw that air fryer or toaster oven behind a double sliding door.

Walnut Cabinetry or Wood Paneling

The seemingly popular 70’s look of walnut cabinetry and wood paneling is making it’s way back into the kitchen. This new take on midcentury modern pairs well with stainless steal appliances, almost any kind of flooring, and high gloss countertops. We’ve also been seeing more and more of this style kitchen with some funky wallpaper and painted ceilings. The best part about this look is that it doesn’t show small messes and is easy to clean.

Color Pop or Dark Drama

One sure way to give your kitchen a dramatic remodel is through your color choices. Choose color schemes that fuse with your home decor effortlessly. Try light colored cabinets with a colorful island or go with a dark color theme all around. To accentuate your kitchen decor, have a professional paint your kitchen ceiling to match the walls or be bold and try something colorful.

Smart Appliances

One of the most popular trends in the last 5-10 years is having smart devices installed all over your home. Being that a lot of our appliances that we use every day are in the kitchen, it tends to be a more popular area to add this technology. Touchless faucets, automatic lights, and voice commanding stoves are just a few fun ways to vamp up your kitchens style. When planning your kitchen remodel, make sure to have plenty of outlets through out your kitchen. You can hide them in cabinets or put some throughout your floorboards to ensure you have all your devices where you want them.

Large Windows

For a more earthy and natural vibe in your kitchen, try to incorporate windows (casement and awning windows highly recommended) that bring in lots of natural sunlight and give you a clear view of what's happening on the outside. If you have a garden, locate your window towards it for a more scenic kitchen view.

Statement Lighting

Nothing commands attention like statement lighting fixture in a kitchen. Install pendants around your kitchen island for a more advent kitchen look. Consider adding dimmers to your lights to ensure you have the correct amount of lighting throughout your day.

Don’t limit yourself when it comes to your kitchen remodel, after all, it is your home. Be as bold or subtle as you want. If you’re remodeling your kitchen to sell your home, make sure to ask your contractor or designer for some ideas, you’ll be surprised with what they can come up with.
